than LEED, the Green Building Rating System
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has created a voluntary standard for defining high performance green buildings. This easy to understand rating system is call LEED or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, and it has been developed to identify buildings which are healhtier, environmentally responsible and therefore more profitable.
LEED Certification reflects the level of achievement in green building based on awarded points. The highest rating is Platinum, followed by Gold, Silver, and Certified.
