HUNTER PANELS ANNOUNCES A SIXTH POLYISO PLANT
TO “CLOSE THE GAP” IN EASTERN U.S.

(Portland, Maine)—Hunter Panels LLC, a leading polyisocyanurate roof insulation manufacturer, has announced the upcoming construction of a new manufacturing facility in Western Pennsylvania. A November ground breaking is scheduled with plans for the plant to be fully operational in second quarter 2006. To be located in Smithfield, PA, this 200,000 SF facility is being built to the same high standards as Hunter’s existing facilities in N.Y., Ill., Fla., Texas and most recently, Tooele, Utah.

“Hunter Panels has been stretching its existing capacity to meet the demands of these robust Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley markets over the past several years. With the cost of energy gaining unilaterally in both private and public building sectors, the increased use of high thermal polyiso insulation in commercial buildings will dramatically off set those costs with a return on the investment in relatively few years. As an added advantage, the use of polyiso saves hundreds of millions of barrels of oil every year, ” said Alma Garnett, Vice President of Hunter Panels. “ Now is the time for the U.S. construction industry to take stock in energy conservation and rise to the challenge of building better, more efficient buildings. We want to make it easier for designers, contractors and building owners to have access to our products,” she added.

Hunter Panels, founded in 1998, manufactures a full line of rigid polyiso roofing insulation for use in both commercial and residential construction. Hunter is headquartered in Portland, Maine, and employs over 400 people nationwide. Polyiso commands an impressive share of North America’s insulation market due to its superior energy savings qualities and its broad range of applications. Hunter and its industry partners have been noted by the Environmental Protection Agency for their responsible and positive effect on climate change and the environment.

Hunter is headquartered in Portland, Maine, and is a subsidiary of Carlisle SynTec, a leading manufacturer of single-ply commercial roofing systems. Carlisle SynTec is part of Carlisle Companies (NYSE: CSL) a diversified global manufacturing company serving the commercial roofing, specialty tire and wheel transportation, automotive, food service, data transmission and other specialty industries.
